If you have access to the ground beneath your home, you're already well on your way to having the optimal conditions for a Spiral Cellar. It's the surrounding soil that helps ensure near-constant temperatures and humidity in a Spiral Cellar. In other words, if you don't already have a cellar , a Spiral Cellar is an ideal solution for you.
A Spiral Cellar can be installed in virtually any room in the home. The hall, office, living room, kitchen, conservatory/orangery. The most important parameters for a well-functioning cellar are that there is a maximum of 4-5 meters to the nearest north, east or north-east facing wall. We run two ventilation pipes from cellar to the outer wall to ensure that we get fresh air into the cellar all year round. This is done without the use of electricity and the distance (length of the pipes) is important for this passive ventilation to work optimally.
For some, getting a Spiral Cellar is not about a design feature for the home, but solely about creating optimal conditions for storing the wine collection. Here it may be obvious to establish the cellar in the garage. If you need to be able to drive over the hatch, it will require a specific Trap door that is reinforced for the purpose.
In the Scandinavian climate, we don't offer Spiral Cellars as an outdoor solution, as we don't have trap doors suitable for that purpose. But in the orangery, conservatory or similar, it is an obvious choice to install a wine cellar.
You can set up your cellar in the kitchen. This will be particularly practical if you also plan to use your cellar as a weight room. If you are considering the cellar as part of a new build or kitchen renovation, you can also have the cellar partially installed under the kitchen island, for example, as long as there is unhindered access to the hatch to the cellar.

Where can you make a Spiral Cellar?

Color and finish. First of all, the original is more raw, where the white is polished and painted on the shelf fronts. The white one also has a larger diameter for deeper shelves and a wider range of accessories for the cellar.
The hole excavated for the cellar is sealed with a water- and radon-proof membrane that keeps groundwater out, so the cellar is always dry.
Lighting solutions are available for both models. For the White model, we can also embed a light rail in the floor and there are recesses in the steps that allow you to purchase a step tread. A safe can also be purchased for both models.

When your wine cellar is installed in an existing room with underfloor heating, you break the pipes where the hole is dug and reconnect the pipes afterwards. This must be done by a professional plumber.
Basically, a Spiral Cellar is ideal for homes that do not have cellar. This is because we have to dig into the ground to install the cellar so that the ground can be used to keep the cellar cold. However, it is possible to expand existing basements with a wine cellar if the surroundings allow us to dig even deeper.
