Process
One Spiral Cellar are made of pre-cast modules and are built into the ground both in connection with new construction, extensions and in existing houses that do not already have Cellar. This also applies to houses with underfloor heating. Of course, the process is a little more extensive when it comes to an existing house, but regardless of the type of project, it is an obvious way to create storage for your wine collection or as an extension of the kitchen, without taking up expensive living square meters.
Precisely the fact that the cellar built up of modules, means that we only need to be able to get through an ordinary doorway to be able to build a Cellar in an existing house.

New construction
It can be a good idea to think about a wine cellar already when you start collecting ideas for your new home.
The location of The cellar is still quite open to you and you can get your architect or construction company to play a bit with the location on the drawings. For that, we have created an Architect's kit with drawings, photos, etc. which you can find here.

New construction - Before installation
In collaboration with your architect or us, the optimal location of your wine cellar is discussed. There may be considerations such as walkways, the room's current and possibly future uses, the need for capacity (number of bottles), the visibility of the cellar in relation to your décor, i.e. whether it should be a clear interior detail or rather be camouflaged; your desire for the latter will have an impact on your choice of Trap door. In addition, there are technical considerations such as distance to the outer wall, as this has an impact on how efficiently the cellar ventilated. We help you with that. In a new building where an excavator is used, it may be advantageous to consider Kit, Assisted Kit or Fit Install as an installation option. New Construction - Under installation When the cellar If installed, we make sure to complete our work without being a nuisance to the other processes of the construction. If the building is still open when the cellar Once installed, we cover it and come back and finish at a later date. New construction - After installation Some of our trap doors Requires installation before the final floor is laid. For model White, our work now begins with finishes, where shelf fronts are filled and painted. Have you ordered a light package and step tread This will be installed as one of the last. Before we can report your basement completely ready for handover, your electrician will install a switch for light and Trap door. We test that everything works as it should and congratulate you on your new title as Spiral Cellar Owner.

Extension

Extension - Before installation
Before installing your Spiral Cellar starts, we will jointly find the perfect location for yours Spiral Cellar . Here, the distance to the outer wall is taken into account The cellar must be able to ventilate. Extension - During installation
If the hole is prepared, the installation of model Original takes 3-5 days - if not used 5-8 days depending on the depth of The cellar and soil conditions. For model White, 3-4 days are added.Extension - After installation
When your Spiral Cellar is installed and we have completed the finished finish and fitted your Trap door , you can leave your wine cellar open for a few weeks so that the concrete can get rid of the last moisture. It is then ready to be filled with your wines, victuals and other goodies.Often we wait to finish the finish until the building is 'closed' and other finishing works such as painting work are underway.
Project Tolvsrød - NO
Previously, there was an extension of the family's living room a covered terrace. In connection with the inclusion of the terrace in the home, we installed a Spiral Cellar While the area was still outdoors and it was easier to get to with an excavator.
Existing housing
As a starting point, a Spiral Cellar ideal for homes that don't have Cellar. This is because it is around the world the cellar that maintains a stable temperature all year round, regardless of the weather outside. However, it is easily possible to expand existing cellars with a wine cellar if the surroundings allow us to dig even deeper, alternatively that you have a crawl space that in principle facilitates some of the digging work.
In most existing homes, we cannot enter with machines. Therefore, the hole is dug by hand and driven out in a wheelbarrow.
Everything for building the cellar can also get through a doorway, which contributes to the fact that it is possible to do such a project in an existing house at all.

Installation options
Depending on the type of project you are working on, you can get your contractor, house builder company or own team to be responsible for everything from excavation to complete installation. Or you can ask us to take care of all tasks.

Location of the basement
One Spiral Cellar can be established in virtually any room in the home. The hall, the office, the living room, the kitchen, the conservatory/orangery. The most important parameters for a well-functioning Cellar is that there is a maximum of 4-5 meters to the nearest north, east or northeast facing wall.
The location of the cellar in the ground means that a temperature of between 15° C – 17° C can be maintained with almost no fluctuations throughout the year, regardless of how the weather outside is.
The ventilation system ensures that the air is constantly replaced. Both ventilation and cooling are energy-free, and therefore not a burden on our environment or your electricity bill.
Choice of model and optional products
We are able to deliver in two versions: Model Original and Model White. Both models are available in depths from 2.0m to 3.0m with a capacity from 1,000 - 1,870 bottles depending on depth and model.
Model Original is cast in grey concrete and has a finished measurement of Ø2.0m. Model White is cast in white concrete, is filled and painted on the fronts and has a finished measurement of Ø2.18m. The finished measurement is measured from the back wall of the shelves. The hatch that gives access to the cellar is significantly smaller and it is therefore not much floor space that needs to be free to give you access to a minimum of 42 extra shelves for wine storage, utilities and other goodies.
