Installation options

Maybe you're the DIY type, or maybe you have a more hands-off approach to construction processes. Or maybe you're somewhere in between? We want you to be hands-on or hands-off as much as you like, which is why we offer you four installation options:

FULL-INSTALL - We take care of the entire excavation and installation

FIT-INSTALL - Your construction team digs the hole and we do the installation

ASSISTED KIT - Your construction team digs the hole and we assist with installing the cellar

KIT - You or your construction team takes care of the entire excavation and installation

Unfold the topics below to read more about each option. They are also each explained in video clips at the bottom of the page.

  • If you have an existing home that you want to make improvements to and want a Spiral Cellar, this is definitely possible as long as you have access to the ground below. In other words, there should preferably not already be cellar , as it is the soil around your Spiral Cellar that contributes to giving the cellar the stable temperature and humidity. If the cellar is to be established in an existing home, the hole is dug by hand; as the cellar is built in modules, we only need to be able to get through the door with a wheelbarrow. If you ask us to handle the entire process, including digging the hole, this is called 'Full-install'.

  • A Spiral Cellar wine cellar is ideal to consider in connection with new construction and extensions. When building new buildings and extensions, there is typically a need for an excavator for the foundation work, so it makes sense to have the contractor prepare the hole for the future wine cellar at the same time. This saves money and is what we call 'Fit-install'.

  • If you would like to be in charge as much as possible but would like to be freed from a manual and have our help on the days you can benefit from our know-how, then 'Assisted kit' is the solution for you. Here, our project manager will be available and present at your construction site for 3 days of the installation process. He knows what he's doing and has built many cellars before yours, so with extra hands provided by your own crew, he'll help you with the waterproofing membrane, the actual construction of the cellar with cabling for lights and Trap door and the ventilation pipes to be routed in the floor. When the construction is ready, he will come and help you install the trap door and give you the final tips and tricks to complete your cellar.

  • Do you have the courage to build your Spiral Cellar yourself? Or do you have access to your own crew and therefore don't need our installation team? In that case, the 'Kit' can be a good solution. The kit kit comes with a detailed manual (in English) that allows you to do the excavation and subsequent construction of the cellar yourself.

Even if you choose to do the installation yourself, we're with you every step of the way. By phone or video call, we are available for advice and guidance until your cellar is completely finished.

The price for DIY includes: Steel rings to secure the hole while you dig, water and radon sealing membrane, modules (shelves and steps). As with our other installation options, you can add a light package, Trap door and step tread to your solution.

You can see what is included in each option in the table at the bottom of the page. In the price list, which you can find under 'Prices', you can also see what it means for the price if you choose to handle all or part of the process yourself. And the process itself will vary depending on whether you're installing in connection with a new build or in an existing house. Find the description that best suits your project here.

We'll also give you a few examples below of when which installation options apply.
