the cellar here was made as part of an extensive renovation of a villa in a beautiful lakeside location. Before the project started, we had a geotechnical report prepared, which, as expected, showed that we should expect high groundwater and even small streams under the house. With the water level standing so high, we knew that the process would be a challenge and that we would most likely not be able to make the deepest of our basements here.
Once the hole is lined with the waterproofing membrane and the cast floor in the hole has hardened, we can build the cellar module by module and the water will no longer interfere with the process and will never penetrate the membrane, so the cellar remains dry for the rest of its lifetime.
